What is Facebook?

What is Facebook?

Facebook is a social media platform that allows you to share your thoughts, ideas, and opinions with others who are your “friends.” It is also a great way for YouTubers to interact with their audience and keep them updated on their videos and other projects. You can share links and provide your viewers with direct access to your channel with your posts.

Your Homepage

Your home page is what you see when you log into Facebook. It includes your News Feed, the constantly updating list of posts from friends, Pages and other connections you've made. You can react to things you see or search for people and topics that matter to you.

Your Newsfeed

The stories that show in your News Feed are influenced by your connections and activity on Facebook. This helps you to see more stories that interest you from friends you interact with the most. The number of comments and likes a post receives and what kind of story it is (ex: photo, video, status update) can also make it more likely to appear in your News Feed.

Videos

Videos are one of the most immersive ways to share and discover on Facebook. You can share videos and discover videos in your News Feed.

To share a video:

  1. Click Photo/Video at the top of your News Feed or Timeline
  2. Choose a video
  3. Click Post

Groups

Groups provide a space to communicate about shared interests with certain people. You can create a group for anything — your family reunion, your after-work sports team, your book club — and a YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

To create a group:

  1. Click  in the top right of Facebook and select Create Group
  2. Select your group preferences, enter your group name, add group members and then choose the privacy setting for your group
